About us

We are Zier, Mary-Ann, Rogier and Niels. A family with a passion for good and honest food and drinks. A family with a dream that we have slowly seen become reality.

Niels is a young, talented and qualified chef and works in an upper class restaurant (listed in the Michelin guide) in the Netherlands. Niels wants to develop personally and professionally in the Netherlands or abroad. Despite this ambition, Niels is ‘the brain’ behind El Sueño’s menu. Niels is not at El Sueño every day. However, he is regularly present to make changes to the menu, develop new dishes and prepare them for our guests.

Mary-Ann started her career as an executive secretary of the Managing Board of a large hospital in The Hague. After having done this for more than 25 years, she made the decision to follow her dream by choosing a position in the hospitality industry. She has now gained extensive experience, both in serving her guests and managing the kitchen, at various restaurants. However, Mary-Ann can mainly be found in the kitchen at El Sueño.

After completing high school, Rogier traveled abroad, where he obtained his diploma as a Certified Bartender. Even though there was hardly any doubt before then, from that moment on he was sure that working in the hospitality industry was what he wanted to do. Rogier has now gained extensive experience in this industry. After working as a restaurant manager at a hotspot in The Hague in recent years, it was time for Rogier to follow his parents and take the step towards entrepreneurship. Rogier is the face at ‘front’ at El Sueño.

Due to the private situation, all other family members working in the hospitality sector, Zier was infected by the ‘hospitality virus’. Because of his extensive experience in communicating with his clientele and conducting complex administration, Zier is an important pillar at El Sueño.
